Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend...Last week i reacquainted myself with the Treet dura sharp blade and was pleasantly surprised how good the shaves i had with them. This week i'm carry on the Treet Carbon blade another DE blade i've only used on the odd occasion since i've had them.

As a general rule with a Carbon blade i use them for two shaves then i' discard them to my blade bin...
I know i could possibly get more than two shaves from them but for what they cost it's hardly worth taking the unnecessary risk just to get a extra shave.

The Parker 55sl Semi-Slant /Treet carbon blade worked really well together. I'm amazed with myself that i haven't used the Treet carbon blades more often that's what happens when you have a vast assortment of DE blades and reach for your regular favourites you completely forget you have other blades in your DE blade collection that are equally as good or if not better...'I live and learn something new with every shave'.

A pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave:

rdt200905u7jqp.jpg

- Noble Otter Rawr
- Yaqi "Dandelion" Cashmere
- MÜHLE Hexagon with Sputnik blade
- Proraso green aftershave

:D

Sat 5 SOTD
Soap A&A Forbidden Fruits
Brush Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Familia
Bowl Turkish Copper
Razor Gillette British RFB #88
Blade Gillette Wilkinson Sword 1st
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Aqua Velva Musk
Terrific lather from just a little soap in the bowl to be mixed into the brush and whipped up from face lathering. Scent is good, lather creamy and slick.
Shave with vintage razor paired with this blade was very good. Sharp but smooth and pleasantly comfortable for a 3+1 multiple direction passes. So close was the shave. As always, last pickup pass mistake...2 weepers. Icy water rinse followed by Thayers felt fantastic then Hyaluronic and AV Musk soothed. Face feels smooth and soft. Rating 9/10

shower
cold water
Yaqi 22mm + Tabac stick
Merkur 33c "Classic" + Matgicol Super Platinum (first mention on these forums?)
cold water rinse
L'Oreal Hydra Sensitive Balm

the blade is a Chinese one. Don't know much about it - but quite satisfied with it's first use for me. It's also double-wrapped which I always like.

Overall not a great shave for two reasons: (a) sore finger from a DIY cut and (b) the Yaqi brush fibres are just too short and make lathering very hard work. I bought it as a candidate for "travel brush" but for the tiny amount of space saved one might as well use a normal sized brush and get an easy lather.

Saturday 5th September

Frank Shaving Silvertip - P&B Achilles Last Stand - Gold Dollar W53 6/8 - Oud 24 Hours EDP

My first use of a traditional straight for quite a few years. The newer GD classic range doesn't have the QC problems found on older models and I must admit to enjoying this shave immensely.
2 passes and a touch up for a fantastic finish :)

So, The last use of the CR Salter, it would only be fitting to use it with the Razor i bought the Cream for, my 1st Straight The Dovo "Best Quality" i had both in a drawer for quite some years then with my latest foray into traditional shaving brought both out of retirement, after a short trip to Ireland the Dovo found its way back home and has had a lovely edge put on by @RussellR5555 , cheers Russ.
The brush i used is one of the first i bought this time around and it will always be in my rotation.
Today i had a nice 2 pass shave with some touch up on the neck and chin, result DFS. i did pick up the tiniest of nicks due to a lack of concentration on the touch up. This was sorted quickly with a splash of cold water.
A nice post shave to finish off, with some light indication on my neck. This included the last of this bottle of CK splash, i have another ready to go.
Post shave Postman arrived with my Thiers-Izzard which has been on a trip to Scotland for a bit work.

Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
