Pre - Trumpers Sandalwood Skin Food
Cream - Trumpers Eucris
Brush - Trumpers best badger.
Razor - Merkur 34G
Blade - Wilkinson (4)
Post - Alum followed Trumpers Sandalwood Skin Food

Nice shave, two passes plus an ATG in a few areas. I keep looking at these new (to me) razors on the market, ikons, feather, rockwell and consider buying when once things get back to normal. Then I tell myself, if what I currently have works, therefore I don't need a new razor. Are they that much better that they are worth purchase price?

The theme for today's shave was 'Tonic for the Gentlemen'

IMG_20200508_100406.jpg

Gin and Tonic - Long handled brass General
Tonic for the troops - Kai Captain
Tonic the hedgehog - Razorock 400
A gentlemen's Tonic - Gentleman's Tonic

Keeping it short today and just a few words to say, if you like creams then you really owe to yourself to try Gentleman's Tonic. Very overlooked with a stonking performance. Heaven in a plastic tub and a shave made in heaven.

Nuff said

Have some of this so as not to say they are just a bunch of pretty girlies. Which they are of course.

Have wonderful safe and healthy weekends all you folk of the forum and all those around you.

And not to forget 75 years since one of the most important days in human history.

I have a fondness for the Merkur 34. The chrome version was my first razor. But the rabbit hole of vintage razors got me and we know how that ends. I think there is a danger of wanting the newest shiny thing out there, though (he said, owning a Rockwell 6C). So, will you get a different shave with different cutlery? Of course. Some are more aggressive/assertive/efficient; some less.

You have to decide what's best for you, in the final analysis. The concept of ‘worth' is subjective. It's like asking ‘Is such and such a product ‘the best''? What's worth it and best is what works for you.

If you think I'm gonna sing a song
You're right, I am
That's how uptight I am
Since you've been gone I got the blues
Don't know what else to do
But sing a song of losin' you
And maybe one of these days I'll find
The garbage can I'm lookin' for
And throw myself away

Throw myself away
Take me to the dump
Toss me on the heap
And in a week I'll smell so bad
Anyone comin' to see me
Will have to hold their nose
But you'll come out like you always do
Smellin' like a rose

Thanks Iain.....but sorry to disappoint you!. Just a little over one. Still too much for a brush (for me anyway)....but I bought it around my birthday when the 'demon drink' was visiting:(
There would be few here - that hadn't done a little bit of drunken internet shopping - heh - we're worth it! If it was your birthday - a get out of jail free card - ha ha ha - lovely - I.

Sat 9th Finally get to try Fatip....
Cream Saponificio Bignoli Black Berry & Moss
Bowl Normal Yogurt
Brush Yaqi 24mm Purple Mink
Razor New Fatip OC Grande 1st use
Blade Gillette Nacet 3rd
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Thayers + Old Spice Lime
Found an old yogurt bowl and it was the perfect size and dimension for lathering.
Good lather from soap, bowl & brush. Thick creamy and slick. Nice scent too.
Enjoyed the brush as it was great for painting and face lathering too.
1st use of the newly received famous Fatip Grande OC. Wanted a Piccolo but out of stock. Really cheap and solid feel razor. Well, the initial blade alignment problem is true. Blade exposure is not on both side. Tried few times to fiddle but still remain same until I turn the top cap around instead and voila..balanced!
This razor paired with blade feels good. Did not feel much blade. Feels smooth but I ride the cap mostly. Hmmm...3 multiple passes including atg on jawline & under successfully. Efficiency abit better to the GC.84 but not as smooth. The adam apple area is now the new trouble area and today suffered some irritation. GC.84...is smoother in
comparison.
Between BBS & DFS and rating today is 8.5/10
