I placed my order on the 24 February and it arrived yesterday (30 March) to me here in the UK. It was well worth the five week wait from ordering,. Very impressed with the wait time, and wouldn't hesitate ordering from Karve again. From what I have been reading on Karve's Instagram, Chris is at the workshop on his own, due to social distancing, so even more surprising he got it made, and sent out in this time in my opinion.

I was going to wait till today and use it, but this lock down is starting to get depressing. So what better way to lift my mood than to have a shave with a new razor :).

I played it safe and had my first shave with a familiar blade (Astra SP Green) and the mildest of the three plates (plate B) that I got in the daily shavers kit.

My first shave with it went exceptionally well. Absolutely blown away by it, it's not only buttery smooth, but it is one of the best razors in the hand I've used. The grip design is out of this world. The craftsmanship, finish are exceptional. No blade chatter whatsoever (as you would expect in a razor made the way Karve's are).

I find it to be similar (although the Karve is more smoother) to the Rockwell 6S. But it's the only similarity I can find to compare it to. I found the Karve is more buttery smooth, and although it was the first time I'd used it, it felt very easy and safe to shave with and like a razor I was familiar with, and one that I'd owned for a long time.

I'm looking forward to trying the C plate on my next shave, and the D plate after that. Also, I will be trying out the collection of blade packs I have which are Gillette Nacet, Gillette Silver Blue, Gillette Platinum, SuperMax Blue Diamond Titanium, Feather blades in the Karve in the coming weeks, months.

I want to spend a couple of months primarily using the Karve, to see which plate and blade combos I find the best for me. I may order more plates (perhaps E, F plates) once I've had a few months of use under my belt, and also once I make sure the D plate is not too aggressive for me (as if it is, it would be pointless ordering anything higher that it).

Nice read. Karve razors are superb performers and offer great value at their price. A wise choice
