Silver replating

I have a Gillette Bostonian that needs a deep cleaning and sterling silver replating. Could anybody tell me who can do this properly? Thank you very much.

Am I being dim here but doesn't silver tarnish, and wouldn't a razor be difficult to polish with a silver cloth? I can't see why it would be a good material to use for plating.

Oh I think I see. It's just that I used to work in a music shop and polishing the flutes* was my least favourite job. Don't think I'll be getting a razor plated in silver anytime soon. Now platinum...

Not a euphemism by the way.

OK you win.

Yes, Silver tarnishes even as it's being applied and although replating in silver will cover up exposed brass, it won't look that different to the original piece. If you aren't bothered about a razor being 'as original' then bright nickel is a much more durable finish. The older Merkurs in EPNS (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) didn't tarnish as much and the finish is harder-wearing than Silver.

Dave replated a Gillette single ring in silver for me. It looks good. But not strikingly different!
