Panama hats is such a fascinating subject. But where and when do most people actually wear their hats?
It's a real investment obtaining a good quality one and obviously one would not want it collecting dust c/w the occasional spray or mist stream to keep it subtle; so when and where do you wear it AND what reactions do you get when you wear it?
I wear mine in the summer, at the races especially Goodwood, and when doing the usual events of horse shows and stately home visits. I wear mine even in spring. My head goes lobster red even with scalp spf lotion due to a lack of coverage.

I just found a UK brand named Hicks and Brown based in Suffolk, their Panama at £80.00 is a lot more than a Failsworth at around £50.00. I may compare their Fedora's to other brands.

I have looked at Hicks and Brown, they appear to do one style and I personally would need to change the current headband to a single block colour. Failsworth only sell to the trade and I am finding their Panamas difficult to locate. At the moment the Borges and Scott seems to be a front runner of the "budget type panamas for me.

The Hat Shop in York sells Failsworth.
