Show us your boars!

I have bin there, done that, actually tried two from Zenith but my take was: To floppy! To the bin! x two!
(In hindsight I should have bought the Zenith model, B03-A26, with a 57 mm loft)

I'm going to use it every day for a week... If I get on with it I'll buy a B03, as it will definitely be more suited to the type of face lathering I'm accustomed to. The B02 can do it, but painting strokes are required... This mornings shave was 50/50 bowl and face lathering :D

Ooh! OOH!

I posted it elsewhere, but i suppose this is the "home of the boars" thread:

The Proraso brush on the lower right, i tossed it after the bleach experiment. I also have another Omega, 27x57mm , but i keep it elsewhere.

White bristles: softer.
Yellow bristles: stiffer.
The 2 outside the boxes are whites. The ones in the boxes are all yellow. I 've tried one of them and i am actually using one black handled now instead of the white handled.

Anyone tried to remove the black plastic container from an Omega knot?
Yes, I did so just a couple of days ago on an O48, I used an electric multi tool fitted with a fine cutting disk and made four cuts through the collar making sure not to go too deep and then just pulled the plastic parts away from the resin. An easy job to do. ( if you have the tool) :) P.

Any chance the knot will "bloom" more without the container?

My 2 cents about Omega blooming is: If you want Omega to bloom, buy only brushes with white bristles. They still won't bloom much, but a bit more than the yellow bristles. Also, abuse them. Because i buy Omegas, for the exact opposite reason. Because i like that they don't bloom much. If you want a wildly blooming boar, buy Semogue or HJM boar. I stocked up with Omegas, exactly because i like "well disciplined knots". Even the softest of the Omegas, with the white bristles, don't have wild bloom.
