The Pecksniff's stuff, as discussed before, doesn't know if it's a soap or a cream. All I know is; it work

...mmm

the same stuff you get at TKMax?

i'm sure Tony said this was horse-plop so i steered clear, smelt nice though

The Pecksniff that I had trouble with (leather, 200g) called itself a cream but was harder than any soap I have ever owned. Loved the scent, just couldn't get a squeek of useable lather out of the thing.

Friday

Gillette Fatboy
Gillette 7 o'clocks
Monsavon soap
Vulfix 404 Pure
Alum
TOBS Shaving Shop a\s

5th shave on this blade, might push for a 6th
Fatboy on 6 WTG, 4 XTG
this soap was a real find and it's easily on a par with Palmolive for value\performance
TOBS a\s works ok but not keen on the scent

4th September 09

Boreal 976
Proraso green shave soap
Gem micromatic
Gem Ted Pella D2 - Thanks Special K
Thayers Original
Aqua Velva mixed with 444 ASB

My second shave with a single edge. Three passes WTG, ATG & XTG a really comfortable close shave. I am still using my HD for the under the bugle part

Friday

MerkurHD
Fresh Gillette Swede
Honeybees Spa Yazo and TOBS sensitive cream superlather
EJ Best Badger
One Planet ASB

After spending the whole week with a straight and getting fantastic shaves, I switched back to the HD today and got a superb shave. WTG, XTG, ATG for a wonderfully smooth face! The Honeybee/TOBS superlather is just amazing! I may not use anything else for a long time.

Friday

Merkur 38C
Derby Extra
Traditional Shave Co Cream and balm.
Simpsons Duke 3

Derby suits me. After my Kai bloodbath yeaterday (It turned out not to be a Feather) I went back to Derby which gives me a smooth nick free shave even on its first day out.
I also applied my lesson from Robert on lathering. I had been leaving too much water on the brush. Produced a nice thick cream from what I think is one of the best supermarket products (£2.50 each for the cream and Balm from Tesco's)

I'm learning.

I dunno Fido, probably they're just not a happy match for your razor (Merkur, right?). I had the same experience as you when I used a Feather in an AJ, but they're enjoyable in a Tech or dialed down Fatboy.

Thursday

Kent/MWF
EJ Best
'71 Superspeed
7 o'clock sharp edge
Harvard A/S

Don't know what went wrong today, used this combo quite a few times with great results but today didn't get a very close shave and lots of burn. Maybe I'm being punished for yesterdays indiscretion with the injector :D
