Trumpers Lime Skin Food

no smelly today - just the faint rose smell from the Harris

Re: Shave of the Day Saturday 11/07/09

Guy, I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the DRH milk.Quite fancied a bottle of this.

Re: Shave of the Day Saturday 11/07/09

Monday evening 13/07

Proraso Pre for a good 15 mins whilst soaking in the bath ;)
TOBS almond cream with Rooney Super Badger.
HD Rocket
Kai blade
Alum
Proraso Post
Proraso A/S

Have to admit it was amazing, really enjoyed the Kai blade, such a step up from the Red Personna I had in.
Kudos to Ollie for sorting that group buy out, I can see me chipping in if another comes up.

Do you use the skin food both pre and post shave?

Only use skinfood currently as a preshave. Post it can leave your face feelng sticky - curiously the limes does this more than the coral does. Ran out of the Coral, but just got an email from Rebecca @trumpers that it will be another three weeks before they get a new batch

Well I quite like it. I did get the glass bottle with dispenser which meant I paid £19 for 100ml (expensive?)
It is nice the smell has a faint rose smell, i nicely moisturises without a greasy residue. Will not spoil any cologne/smelly stuff should you wish to add it after the milk, but best to let it absorb into the skin for about five mins before applying.

A BBS shave followed by Harris Milk is lovely on a summers day.

Cannot remember where I read it, but Boots do a cheap and cheerful equivalent called Freshwood Aftershave Balm... 125ml for £3 which I think is a bargain. Similar performan ce and if you don't mind the smell a great addition to the rotation.

Re: Shave of the Day Saturday 11/07/09

Might have a look at the boots stuff first of all, do you know if it has a strong scent?

changes

Well when I did this one it was before I knew of TSR. So here you go

Trumper Sandalwood cream
Jagger metal travel brush
Progress/Personna
DR Harris Milk

No perfume/cologne/EDT

It is quite noticeable when you apply the stuff, but does not linger too strongly. I liked the scent and it does not clash with the Trumper Spanish Leather which I enjoy a lot at the moment.

As to consistency, texture and performance, the Boots stuff I think gives DR Harris a hell of a run for the money. And the Boot's balm's cost is I think impossible to beat.

Semogue 1520 boar brush

Wednesday

One Planet Shave Oil (as preshave)

Merkur three piece razor with a custom made handle
Gillette 7o'clock yellow (x1)
Nivea Extreme Comfort Post Shave Balm

Love my custom handle... it was an experiment by a Thai colleague on the old Badger & Blade. Personally milled heavy stanless handle with an antislip grip. :p

Nice to hear you made it to the shave even with a sore back.

Good combination, was that the forst shave with the BK4? does it feel like it will break in more? I have still to try the MWF may gives it a whirl over the weekend.
