Sharing some love

Still onboard at this end and still happily using away on the No.8. I can't say anything wrong with it and does what it says on the tin. Which isn't much, but if it did I am sure it would be correct. Still enjoying the benefits and loving it.

Have you any plans for it to be shared so others might be able to cast their critical eyes, noses and shaving abilities? I'd be more than happy to pass on to other forum members.

Thanks to all of you. For now, can we keep it between the 6 testers, just so that way I can make sure I get consistent feedback? Later, when I've tried a few more things, we can go from there and maybe pass it on.

Thanks.

I didn't get the chance to try the new soap from James but I have been revisiting my large stock of the original OSP hard soap and would be amazed if this wonderful soap could be improved apon, I would certainly like to try his new soap to see if perfect could be improved apon :) PS. All of my original OSP hard soap's have stood the test of time and I have found not only do they keep well they don't seem to disappear under the brush being one of the reasons I still have so many left! OSP forever! P.

It certainly does last, I have barely scraped the top off it. I used it again tonight for a SR shave and was still very happy with it. I still think the glide could improve, it certainly is not " Bad " , but if it was 20% better it would fantastic, I have soaps with worse glide and still use them ok, so to improve on the current soap will be difficult, we shall see, I thought it may be the SR having less glide coz the DE was absolutely fine...

Apologies for the lack of updates. Been a busy week at work, not helped by a dose of man flu.

As promised, I have only used No.8 for all my shaves. I have nothing new to add to my previous comments. Same great lather. No irritation from the lather or post shave. I normally use an unscented moisturiser after an AS, but for the last few shaves, I haven't bothered. Skin still feels soft and hydrated.

A couple of observations - it seems easier to lather using a badger than from a boar or synthetic. I'm not sure why, I put it down to user error, trather than with the soap. I seem to have load longer wityh the boar. Maybe it's not fully broken in??

I didn't shave for a few days due to illness, so thursday's shave was 4 days growth with a King Cobra, Feather Pro on shave 2. Lathered using a badger. This was one of those shaves where everything just went right. 2 passes - north - south, south - north. BBS results. Absolutely no feedback from the AS. In fact I applied it twice because I thought I didn't put enough on in the first place. It was like spalshing my face with water.

The next few shaves will be with a boar to dial that in.

My dislike of synth brushes is well documented on these pages, poor lathering and no backbone being my main dislike, when I read people saying how much they like them I just could not understand it and thought it must be me or my impatience to persevere to give the time to produce a lather...so, I decided to buy another synth and spent a bit more than my other synths, I got a Razorock xxl 400 in red handle and black knot, this is a beast of a brush and would not look out of place as a prop in a barber shop, it is massive both in length and girth...which suits me as I have big hands, test shave tonight went fantastic, it lathered up No 8 in no time at all, and I could not believe the difference from the other synths, there was loads of lather and I kid you not but like 5 or 6 passes worth, I have gone from a hater to a lover, I love the knot because it does have a backbone, splays perfectly, and you can really work it hard...I am delighted and this will be my go to brush for a while. My only concern was when i shampooed it the black knot bled and washed away a little from the root, you could see dirty water run off...I done the washing 2 times and the lighter hairs of the knot were becoming quite obvious....so do realize if you buy one the pitch black hair will washout , it was £27 delivered. I will put a foto up tomorrow coz im in bed in Hospital right now IT IS MASSIVE:) :) :)

Hoping it's nothing serious.

I have Cystic Fibrosis, I am in hospital roughly every 3 months for IV antibiotics, at 65 I have way surpassed the expected lifespan, but i'm not complaining :)
I know of only one other guy who is 73, but there will likely be more....not a lot tho. I think the lifespan age has risen to about 43 now ?, but there are people who won't see that and others like myself who will surpass that, it is mostly just luck and what gene is affected and how your body reacts, strangely enough there are thousands of people with the exact same gene defects but will have totally different symptoms and health prospects. There are new drugs that are near enough a cure, but at £100K per person per year the UK government don't want to pay that, the new drugs are available in USA but have not yet passed the British qualification test..or whatever it is called, they are hoping for the all clear in the summer of 2021, then the haggling over cost will likely take 2 years, so...not great for me, but fantastic news for families with CF children.

Epic brush mate.

Hope the visit helps ease some pain.

Any of the testers have a preference for fragrance on the next sample? Hopefully get round to making it this week. I've been delayed a bit as my kitchen flooded due to a leaking pipe!

Sweet orange and lavender would be a frag I would love to see in a shave soap, what do you think?

I hope that there wasn't too much damage caused by the leaking water pipe J.

Damn that leaky pipe thing. Damn damn damn and damn.

Fragrance? I try steer clear of lavender where I can as I can have an allergic reaction. Vetiver or Basil with orange/Neroli?
