Seygus Zeppelin V2 TI

Here some initial thoughts on my newley accquired Seygus Zeppelin V2 TI.

The Seygus Zeppelin V2 feels different then other DE Safety razors. I would rate it a a quite subtile shaving tool - I really like it.
Fit and finish is good, the razor has a basic polished finish - not mirror like but well done. Inside of topcap and top of baseplate showing minor machine marks. With 68 gr. the TI razor is lightweight and very well balanced, the handle offers good grip at the right spots. The difference to other DE's is that the head is designed to bend the cutting edges / the four corners of the blade downwards, towards the handle. Seen upside down, the razor is “smiling”. This is achieved by the inner shape of the baseplate and the non rectangular, slightly concave, topcap. This makes the blade clamped very firm and provides a kind of tension to the cutting edges of the blade. I would discribe it as a kind af Slant effect. I got the 0.7 / 0.7 which Bullgoose describes as agressive. As other Seygus prodcuts, also the Zepellin is a mild razor. Very efficent with mimimal blade feel. In face feel and handling it reminds me to the first version of the Krect Spiral Slant razor but more efficent.
Side note. While one safety bar is completly smooth, the other Safety bar is scalloped. I guess this is a design feature they took over from the 0.5 / 0.7 dual gap razor.
Regards Marco

I did a by side comparison shave between my older v2 Zeppelin and my new Ti version.

There are some noticeable differences with the razors (aside from the coming in a leather pouch and the newer razors coming in a tin case).

The old razor has a 10/32 thread (and the head will fit my Carbon R2 handle), whilst the newer version has an M5 thread.

There have been some slight design changes on the edges of the baseplate and top cap as well.

Both shave excellently well on each side of the head (0.7mm and 0.5mm). The Ti version, whilst noticeably lighter, also feels slightly smoother.

They're both great razors and I'd definitely recommend getting one if you have the chance.
