September 2020 Acquisitions

My new 30mm Cashmere brush in highly lacquered 'Lead Wood' (which I'd ever heard of) and made to order from TSR member @Steven_Jagger .

So it's a brush? No, this is a painstakingly beautiful brush. Everything about it is just so 'ahhhh, mmmmmm'. The finish is sublime, the lacquer deep with a beautiful gloss sheen, the weight and size so perfect and the knot? I absolutely loved the 24mm Dandelion Cashmere but this is a real monster.

Steve has been an absolute gentleman from start to finish. It has taken time, but he's a busy man and what with everything else going on in the world, then so what? It has been more than worth the wait.

I love the fact this is mine and I am so proud. There isn't another like it. Steve asks all those questions you never really thought of. What shape? What size? What wood? What knot? And you can't buy it over the counter. This is the end product of a craftsman. Thanks so much Steve.

As I passed on to Steve my wife gave a kind of review. 'Chris surely you are not going to use this and put it on display? It is too beautiful to be used'. May be she has a point. However I will give a review soon as Steve and Silver Birch Brushes deserve some kind words.

As the man said, he really wanted to keep this for himself as I think he took some joy in it and the end finish with the contrasting wood and knot. Bad news is, I ain't going to send it back

One of my favourite things I've seen on the site for a while, fine acquistion Chris.

IMO, it's too beautiful to not be used.

You should have seen him, he was absolutely jumping up and down like a little kid in anticipation of getting this one, and I can see why.

Mind you, he's a 6'2” matelot, with a penchant for Cherry Red Dr Martens, so the sight of that is somewhat disconcerting...

Actually, seeing as Chris was the one to bring his better (by a very large margin) half into the discussion, I believe that she (Mrs Satanfriendly) enjoys brush lathering (absolutely not a euphemism, as far as I know ) rather than aerosol gloop, and Christmas is coming so maybe there's an opportunity for another commission there...

Thank me later Chris, there's your stocking filler sorted.;)

How dare you call my wife a stocking filler, she is more than that to me. She can also cook, clean, carry the coal and polish my Doc Martens.

Didn't you get a free Cadman out of this? And some 88, and, and, and..........

C&S 88 soap waiting for next time

Picked this up earlier in the week, it's almost half price in Debenhams. The only problem is it's unisex and SWMBO quite likes it...

I have quite a few orange/Neroli scents and I probably rate this as being the best in the bunch. Better than Hermes, Atelier etc.

A real overlooked bargain and well done

My Photo skills just do not do these wonderful brushes justice.
I can only reiterate what Chris @Satanfriendly has said in his post about his Lead Wood masterpiece.
I had never used a Silver-tip knot before so decided to ask Steven @Steven_Jagger if he could help, i checked out some of his work on his Social Media pages and made up my mind to go for a Heavy Chubby style Blue acrylic handle (i do have hands like a mountain gorilla) As i was getting back into Str8 shaving i also wanted a brush to compliment a Koraat razor i really fancied with Cocobolo scales so also ordered a Cocobolo handled silver-tip. Both Knots are 26mm.
As Chris has said, the craftsmanship is top notch, they really are beautiful in the hand. I had a picture in my mind and tried to convey that to Steven as best i could, its as if he photographed my thoughts and made them real.
Like Chris i feel so privileged to own these "made for me" one offs, i cannot wait to get them wet.shave1.gif

A Massive Thanks to Steven @Steven_Jagger for making this happen, well worth the wait.thanks.gif
