Scottish acquisitions

I've just finished reading what everybody's been up to for the last two weeks. It's nice to see more new members, and that the standard of repartee and double entendre is as dazzling as ever. I'm now returned from south west Scotland with a belly full of haggis and shortbread, and a rucksack full of aftershave (bottled at 55% and aged for 19 years). I also had some limited shaving related luck.

I think it was Joe who recommended getting out into the wilds in search of NOS blades, so I'm glad to say that I've replenished my stock of UK Wilkinsons by cleaning out the chemist at Alston and the post office at Blackwaterfoot on Arran. Also on Arran I managed to turn up 15 John Buchan hardbacks at a pound a go, along with my first shaving mug (no idea how to use it - just wanted one for the shelf). I have another soap to try: Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus which I'll review in due course, and their vetiver after shave balm, which works well with my increasingly dry skin - a sure sign that autumn has arrived. I have also acquired a couple of straights in good condition, so sometime soon I'll revisit the art of shaving as practised by Van Gogh.
