Scent of The Day

Parfums Vintage - Rush of Unicorns. (A generous free sample.)

This, frankly, ridiculously-titled offering is a new, direct copy of Creed's Millesime Imperial, with the focus on improving the longevity. Having tried Millesime Imperial (herein, MI) previously, and finding the performance to be slightly lacking, I feel this is worth some attention. It's very similar but the amped-up notes make some of the salty-citrusness a little much. Whereas MI is delicate and akin to a lightly fruit-spritzed, musky sea-breeze, this is far heavier. I'm sure with some drying down it'll be more bearable but for now it's not quite at the same level as the real deal. That's not to say it's a bad fragrance, and bought by itself having not tried MI I'm sure the recipient would be happy with it. For me, I can't see myself spending the cash on this one (it's not cheap, either) for a direct copy when they can be found for far less.

I'll also be trying out Xerjoff's Amber Star on the back of my hand a little later.
