Scent of The Day

Tom Ford Oud Wood (sample). Decent enough smell but performance is obviously disappointingly soft. I've other fragrances which do similar but with better performance and perhaps for the same money if not less.

I love this stuff but have to agree about the performance. You almost have to bathe in it to notice it, although, I have picked up the smell on my scarf for days after using it. I'm curious as to what these other fragrances are as I would be interested in something along these lines that performs better. Can you give me some pointers? [emoji846]

Okay so it partially depends on how oudy you're comfortable with but there's the likes of leather out for that ‘western' feel and sweaty muskiness. Very nice but not for everyone.
AdP Oud ticks similar boxes but is far brighter and fresher than I've found Oud wood to be. A different take but nice nonetheless and performs well for an AdP.
There's similarities with the woodiness with Creed's Royal Oud. It's a dry masculine woody frag with the Oud very much buried down. Cedar and pepper are what I get off this but it's definitely the same feel.
Finally, Mancera Sand Aoud is perhaps my closest similarly. However, the 12 sprays of Oud Wood I had to use to smell it equals about 1/4 of a spray of the Mancera. It's strong stuff and doesn't hold back. See yourself past the sneeze-inducing pepper opening and you'll grant yourself with one of the best dry downs I've come across. Very much sharing similarities but Mancera wore it better, so to speak. :)
There is Oud Wood intense but I can't attest to that. Similarly there's a perfume-parlour clone version but I've also not tried that. It's reported to have better performance for sure. :)

Thanks Ben. I shall have to give some of these a try. Leather and sweaty muskiness sounds good to me [emoji106] as does the Mancera. Appreciate the info [emoji846]
