Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Cream: Lea Menthol
Razor: Wolfman WR2
Blade: Super Iridium BN-84 (6)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Proraso Green Aftershave Splash
Scent: Mancera Cedrat Boise EdP

Sticking with the Spanish cream theme; this time my first use of Lea Menthol. Very easy to lather; produces lots of lather from a small to average amount of cream, and a very good performer. The scent reminds me of Kapo Fresh from Bulgaria, which is a good thing, as this is one of my favourite creams. The menthol strength of the Lea cream is slightly more vigorous than Kapo Fresh, and right in my sweet spot. Three passes for a BBS result.

Wash with Ach Brito Glyce
Lather up with Meissner Tremonia 'Natural Brown' Bay & Rum and RazoRock 400 Limited Edition w/Plissoft Black Fibre 24mm
Single pass (3 days) shave with late 1950s/early 1960s Gillette Tech & Lord Super Chrome (3)
Hot rinse, cold rinse, alum wash & Alcolado Glacial

Third run with the Lord Super Chrome and I have to say what a lovely blade that was, for me. Right up my street! I have shaved before with a Shark Super Chrome, which is undoubtedly the same blade, but can quite put my finger on what I thought about it. The shave is simply, comfortable and mellow, and perhaps it's for that reason that I don't readily recall the Shark.

I'm sure the blade would go on to 4 if not 5 shaves for me, my usual being 3 and few blades feel right beyond that on my face, but I've retired it and will run straight on into the Lord Super Stainless (Classic) next ...

I had a real hankering for Bay Rum this evening and it struck me that I don't actually have a Bay Rum soap ... or do I? I remembered the tubs of Meissner Tremonia test pots that I've had for a few years. The formula was called 'Natural Brown' and somewhat resembles dark glycerine soap. Glycerine is in the formula, but it's down the list. There's also natural honey in the soap. It's "Bay AND Rum", containing both the Caribbean bay leaf and a Jamaican rum. Lovely, lovely soap indeed. I don't think that formula will every hit the shelves, which is a shame as it is absolutely ... lovely!

My hankering for Bay Rum was satisfied and so after shaving, rather than a dose of VIBR I went for Alcolado Glacial. Mmmmm ... frosty!

Enjoy your Friday night, folks!

A Japanese girl to start this final shave? What is the world coming to?

Last serenade - Enoch
Last train to Grand Central - Titan Mild
Last caress - Razorock 400
Last Christmas - Bath House Cuban Cedar and Lime
Last night a DJ saved my life - Faena Skinos

Choose me, choose life, choose a razor which gives great results since being calmed with a Titan Mild blade and then bleeding cut yourself. So I did. Careless? Stupidity? Blasé? In fact the whole lot. Nothing Captain Styptic couldn't correct, but utter self embarrassment.

Lesson being there is no such thing as mild with a piece of sharp steel.

Other than that, mighty happy with a decent slash as I look like a hard bastard.

Rarely reach for the 400 brush these days and may be I should reach for it a little more. Totally forgot how damn good this cheap brush is. Face lathering with the Bath Cuban Cedar soap being a simple and effective exercise. Go on treat yourself this Christmas and get some Bath House soap. It really is fucking boss.

Other than the one display of stupidity this ended as one great shave in every other respect. And don't forget, respect the blade.

'This'll stop yourself having shaving accidents in the future sir...... You daft bastard'

'What!? I can't hear a bloody thing with this thing on. And my sodding fag has gone out'

I will leave you with some Aldious being as they haven't made an appearance for some time. And they are pretty and talented. The world needs some of that. Have a wonderful weekend you beautifully shaven bunch.

First shave with my new MÜHLE Edition 3 brush that arrived in a beautiful - and gigantic- presentation box.
The brush is geogeous, made from bog oak and Sterling silver.
The wood is refined with sterling silver, so that the fine indentations on its surface
acquire a silvery gleam, that I'm not able to catch on the photo.
Wow......a lovely looking brush indeed

Sat 5th SOTD
Soap Stirling Executive Man
Brush Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake Badger
Razor Yaqi DOC Slant
Blade SuperMax Stainless 1st
Post & Aftershaves
Ice Water + Thayers
Hyaluronic + Clubman GentsGin
Awesome soap!! Super nice scent with creamy and slick lather! Love Stirling!!
This shave with the aggressive slant razor was finally tamed using a shim (thanks @ouchyfoot for the tip) and a mild but good blade. The immediate feel was much smoother and comfortable without any blade chattering. Wtg & xtg was very smooth and then the real test was the atg on the chin & around the lips especially the upper lip. Wow..!! Smooth, comfortable, and without issues. 3passes for a very close mostly BBS result with 2 late creepers. Really efficient shave today beating yesterday's Karve F plate easily. Excellent post and aftershaves. Rating 9.8/10

Monday 7th December

Wash with Ach Brito Glyce
Lather up with Meissner Tremonia 'Natural Brown' Bay & Rum and Vulfix Old Original No.28 w/Blonde Boar 20mm
Single pass (3 days) shave with late 1950s/early 1960s Gillette Tech & Shark Super Chrome (2)
Hot rinse, cold rinse, alum wash & Alcolado Glacial

Following on from a thoroughly lovely set of shaves with a Lord Super Chrome, I flipped across to a Shark Super Chrome for the sake of comparison. I used the same soap, switched in a new boar which I'm breaking in and so gave me a good scrubbing ...

I have used a Shark Super Chrome before and merely noted that it mellowed a lot during the first shave. Shaving with the Lord seemed to be somewhat more enjoyable; very comfortable, smooth and mellow. Back to the Shark, well ... I know they're technically the same blade, but I have to say I preferred the Lord brand. Granted, I'm making that distinction off just two blades so it might well be that quality can vary.

Dunno ... either way, I really enjoyed the shave with the Lord Super Chrome but this Shark Super Chrome has left me with a VERY smooth face. One smoother, one sharper? Just variable quality?
