Bowl - Travel Pet Bowl with nubs
Brush - Vig Shaving 20mm Boar
Soap - Lea Menthol Cream
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Supermax Blue Diamond Platinum (10)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Eyup Sabri Tobacco

I'd read favourable experiences of the travel pet feeder bowls repurposed as shaving bowls, and I was delivered two the other day with one intended for my nephew. In the 4-5 years of wet shaving, I'd never used a shaving bowl to build a lather so today was my first occasion to build a lather in a bowl. The nubs seem to catch the cream and contribute well to making a lather very quickly, even with the worst brush I own! Ah, the VigShaving boar, a truly terrible shedding brush.
It was only a quick shave to tidy up my cheekbones and below the jaw, I'm getting sick of having a beard and I think I may part with it soon.

Have a good weekend chaps.

The half blade did made it easier and less challenging with the alignment of the blade...I'll have to try using a 'snapped in half' blade...A great shave.
Regards. B

I read a review of the Yaqi Katana which suggested it was a little more aggressive with a snapped DE blade than a shavette blade.

I also gave into the temptation of this razor and placed an order for one, I'm generally not a fan of aggressive razors but the positive reviews of the razor head were too much to avoid.

Hope you enjoy using yours Barry.

I bought a Lik dog bowl as per @wooky114 Youtube
Used it a couple of times this week - produces great lather effortlessly

Thanks for your honest views...The Katana is aggressive /assertive no doubt, but like any razor if treated with respect & the slightest of touch it'll reward you with a good shave.

Out of curiosity after the comments left from @Digimonkey this morning on my post having loading & alignment issues using a snapped DE blade with the katana , i used a Supershave X blade 'snapped in half to see if there would be any difficulty with loading & blade alignment...I find it easier to load the blade upside down with the top plate facing away from me, then putting the bottom plate in place finally connecting the handle in place keeping the blade aligned pressing with plastic pen top whilst securing the handle.

The only fractional difference i found was the 'snapped in half blade' opposed to the Euromax Platinum half blade once loaded the blade was slightly more exposed.....I've been pondering and thinking that future made models of the Katana would benefit from placing 'minute magnetic holding nubs' on the top plate to keep the half blade aligned when loading.

I shall try out the Supershave X blade in future shaves to compare the aggression with the Euromax Platinum half blade.

Stay safe, and enjoy your weekend.
Yours. Barry.

Omega 11126 boar
Granado Soap Bar
ATT SE1
Schick Proline [ 9 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

My second use of this Soap Bar, and this time worked on the Bar to produce a good Lather. Unfortunately the lather quickly disappears and needs constant refreshing. It has a long lasting scent and actually does assist the Shave nicely but the extra work needed to retain a working lather is a pain.
