This shave came to you curtesy of the theme 'Doki Doki morning,'

One thing I really like about this job is that I get to see my city from an aspect few tourists get to see unless they want to pay me to take them out on the river for a towing job. At some ungodly hour of the morning

All tells you Jack shit about my shave

A good morning razor - Stainless Mongoose
Buenos dias hoja - Feather Super Professional
Доброе утро, щетка - Yaqi Dandelion
おはよう石鹸 - ADP Colonia
Egun on hidratatzaile - Nivea

As the photos say, an early morning shave brought to you by Baby Metal and some shaving metal. The Mongoose is one of those razors I can reach for time after time in the knowledge (and I don't really do knowledge. More bliss ignorance) it will simply give fantastic results without threatening to introduce the colour red in to one's life. With a Super Pro (Boycie. Get some taste will you?) an incredible shaving duo.

ADP I just can't say anything new I haven't said before. Heaven in a real glass jar as against to a cheap plastic tub. Or as in some people's case, a used really cheap ex Wilkinson Sword plastic tub. That man Boycie again

Yaqi, Dandelion, Daffodil, Daises or whateverers, who gives a toss? the best cheap brush I know of. Buy one. You know you want to.

One superb Doki Doki morning shave and a lovely start to the day. Being at work I think Mrs Satanfriendly will be disappointed I couldn't take up her offer to shave me.

Have a lovely day you shaving folk.

Am I missing something here? Ah......

A wonderful shave set up...+ 1 on Nick Drake..One of my all-time faves..Unknown by most, and underrated .

One of the greatest.

Have you seen this video?

A very, very geeky examination of his playing style, and even though it's largely for the perspectives of guitarists, IMO it's still worth it for non guitarists to have a look, the examination of his technique is fascinating.
In the last 10 years or so, a small record label released the lost recordings of his mother, which as a Nick Drake fan is an interesting listen in some ways.

Pre: Shower
Brush: Edwin Jagger Medium Best Badger
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Razor: Razorock ECO
Blade: Permasharp Half Blade (1)
Post shave: Cold Water Rinse, TC's Infused Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Balm Rosemary and Sandalwood Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Old Spice Pure Sport

I was not sure when i first used this little EJ Best Badger brush as i found it did not have as much backbone as i like, saying that, i am starting to get the hang of it now. A nice scritchy face lather today with the MWF, plenty for the 3 passes.
This Little half blade ECO is probably my favourite Half blade SE, not a lot comes close, so easy to use with a well thought out head design that makes it impossible to miss-align the blade.
3 passes for a BBS finish. A nice post shave, although i do not think the Pure Sport will see the week out.
Stay Safe and enjoy your day All.

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Soap - Sweyn Forkbeard Vanilla and tobacco
Brush - New Forest
Razor - ESC Outlaw Mild
Blade - Gillette Nacet
Post - Moisturiser

First proper use of the Outlaw razor and a new to me blade. It is very well made. This is the mild plate. Usual two and half passes. I'm not sure yet if you get a better or more comfortable shave compared to a standard Merkur 34. Todays shave was close and comfortable.

You are too kind, good sir !

Nick Drake does seem to have bypassed an entire generation (most under 40's wouldn't have heard his name, let alone his music)
I like to listen to his music when I'm in a reflective mood - it seems to feed the mind, and the soul

....'I like to listen to his music when I'm in a reflective mood - it seems to feed the mind, and the soul'. Nick is/was a master at doing this, even though he probably wouldn't have been aware of it at the time.

Two of my personal favourites

PARASITE (1971) by Nick Drake - in widescreen slideshow - YouTube

enjoy. (y)

Alpha Revolver + AP Cashmere
Mikes Sweet Pumpkin Spice
Blackbird CC
Feather Hi-Stainless
A&E Post-Shave Serum

This cashmere knot has more backbone than I thought, definitely not like a wet noodle as previously thought... It's just very soft and plush, wouldn't reach for it every shave but I quite enjoyed it.

Mikes is one of the oldest US artisans and his recipe has stood the test of time, it's still superb and provides one of the shiniest lathers in the business. Only negative is lack of residual slickness compared to the latest stuff but hardly a deal breaker considering the low price this soap sell for.

Feather blade in the Blackbird was probably the best yet, definitely an upgrade over the Gillette Platinum I was using.

A&E serum continues to impress, smells rank but my skin is looking better than ever.
