S.O.T.D. Saturday 11 th June to Friday 17th June 2016

Soap:- Wickhams 1912

Brush:- Whipped Dog 24mm Silvertip

Razor:- English Ever Ready 1912 SE

Blade:- GEM SE

Post Shave:- Givenchy Gentleman EDT

Wickham's Spice Trade was the first artisan soap that I purchased shortly after starting DE shaving, since then I have managed to procure a number of other Wickham's soaps, all of which I enjoy immensely. They all lather really easily and the scents are wonderful. I was somewhat disappointed to say the least when shortly after my initiation to this way of shaving, Wickham's soap virtually disappeared from the market. I cant tell you how please I was to hear that Darron was bringing out a new range and this 1912 hard soap is in a different league, lather-ability, slickness, cushion, stability, post shave and scent are all top draw.

Thank you for the kind words Steve, I am on another cloud to be back in the swing of things. Wickhams is firmly set to be around for a very long time, I have some very exciting things lined up. :)

No photo, but my first decent, care taken shave in a long while!

EJ89 head on custom handle made by a guy on here a while back who's name escapes me. Apologies, but its a top handle! Paired with a fresh Rapira blade.

Big ol' omega barbershop brush.

Cella. Forgot how good this stuff is. Expected it to have gone funny, but it still works great after 3 years!

Finished off with Professor Blighty pear shaving tonic. Two passes, wtg and atg. Beautiful.

Welcome back Alex, good to see you posting again. ;)

Giving it classy on my Birthday. F**k I'm 39!

Happy Birthday!

2nd shave with the pass around Cobra. 2 passes only tonight...My thoughts are very similar to last nights and I'm a bit meh about it . TBH a fairly patchy shave, I've prickly stubble all over and it is not a close shave! I still prefer it to the "Mongeese" I've tried, but it doesn't shave any where near as well as my injectors or my favourite DEs.
There is maybe a trick in using it that I'm missing? I'm going to wait until Saturday for a couple of days growth until the next run out ;)

EJ 25mm Synthetic
Mongoose B3 / Feather Super (4)

First shave with Wickham 1912 Unscented. Loaded brush for 15secs and proceeded to whip up enough lather for at least 4 passes! Superlative glide and cushion, excellent post-shave feel and extra skin-friendly formulation. A real winner from Darron at Wickham Soap Co.

Thank you Frankie, made my day that this one workout for you. We got there in the end, now on to the Super Smooth V2. :)

SOTD OF 15.&16.June

Wanted to give my Parker R87 another chance. Loaded with ASS he failed. Face lathered with an Isana Black Fibre the Speick Soap (15.) and Cream (16.) gave a very slick (the soap worked better with the Parker) ground.

But I couldn't get a decent result after 3 passes, so I had to torture myself with the Gillette Fusion.

Will do a comparison shave with an 'Original' Rocket i.e., to come to a final conclusion about this Parker R87.

Wilkinson Sport (15.) i prefer over the Swiss Pitralon (16.) smell wise...

Cheers, Olaf

The D&G Pour Homme is one of my all-time favourite scents but it has been years since I finished my last bottle. May have to invest in a new one.
