Russian NACET's

Anybody tried them yet? Made by Gillette for Gillette UK but only currently available in the Far East.

Part of the Gillette migration from that Czech plant to St Petersburg.

So these blades are at least 2 years old but there seems to be enough of them about that even Dr idiot has some stock. Is that because they cannot sell them in Europe because of the "Made for Gillette UK" print?

I've have received some correspondence from the Czech factory, they now only produce carbon steel blades mainly for industry and that the stainless production they did for Gillette got shifted to the St Petersburg plant. They did mention NACET as well the Silver Blue production being moved so maybe after a couple of years we are starting to see their reimmergance.

I have ordered one pack to try, hope they are better than the Silver Blues. (HFC)

I tried them about 18 months ago; a pack came with Paul's blade sample collection. I think they were OK but I hadn't tried Feathers then.

I doubt that poses a big problem to P&G/Gillette - I mean there are still NOS UK Wilkinsons out there - and that plant closed for good in 2000 so years of stock isn't a huge surprise, especially for such a low value, easy to store item. It might be that there's more caché/value to be had in the Far East with the European provenance (rather than Chinese)
