Rolls Razor

Rolls Razors stone would not have a grit because it is a natural stone(slate) and which grit level it is equal?? Well it is difficult to answer but I would put it below 8K.
You will never have perfect and a very comfortable, smooth shave with a RR finished/honed on its own stone. I suggest that you hone it on a proper hone depending on your preference or whatever you have like Naturals or Synthetics or Both. You will understand why I said these things about RR stone after you shave with one finished on something like Naniwa 12K or Thüringen or even Coticule.
Also I wouldn't put a straight razor on RR stone, and I suggest not to try it, you may ruin the edge.

Iv got a 12k Bear billy, I was curious what the Rolls was, they wee stones are cheap tho.
They Would Need Taken Out the Case to Use...The Case Holds Em Encased & Flat Enough for the Rolls System...Naniwa Super Stones are Not Expensive...They are Up there with the Best...:p

If Ya Want a Cheap Hone to Finish Use Lapping Film...Good Results as Any Modern Hone...Dont Get Any Cheaper...(y)

It's not a natural stone. The grit is around 8k, as best I've been able to tell. It's certainly not 12k, and if it was, no strop dressing would be needed.

It's recommended to keep the hone away from heat sources (like a radiator), as the heat will cause the binding agents in the stone to break down, which makes the hone even more fragile and prone to breakage than it already is.

The Rolls razor instructions say the stone should be used dry. Myself and many others have noticed that smearing the hone with petroleum jelly, letting it sit for a few hours, and then wiping it off, seems to rejuvenate the hone, and gives a much better edge to the blades, and when combined with a pasted strop, allows the Rolls blade to be brought to a shave ready state with no need for equipment beyond the Rolls's own sharpening system.
