Rod Neep brushes

I while back I was looking for a custom burl brush and a few of us were discussing whatever happened to Rod Neep.

Maybe this is common knowledge but I always felt some dread when he disappeared. On FB he related that he had heart surgery 3 years ago and unfortunately his doctor told him the electromagnetic field from the lathe might interfere with his pacemaker. So that's the story, he's alive and well but had to give up making brushes. He seems to be liquidating his stock on FB. I'm sure he'll have some gorgeous brushes on offer so you might want to take a peek here: https://www.facebook.com/NeepPensShaving

Thanks for the update, @beardybrewer.

I did see some time ago that he wasn't well and had stopped making things, but it's good to have confirmation that he is indeed still with us. It's a shame that he's been forced to give up his work, as his brushes and razor handles are something else altogether. I have his Ursa Major brush (LE of 9), and he kindly made me a matching handle with inset stars. Unusually for me (and contrary to my instincts), I have used neither brush nor handle, as they are really irreplaceable works of art, and stay in their original box. On the other hand, I have a couple of handles that get a good amount of use.

Off to FB, and doubtless further down the rabbit hole.

It might be a loyalty thing but IMO the stock would shift faster on the shaving forums than via FB - he's certainly been a member on some of the U.K. forums. Some of the knots would interest me, if available
