The simplest thing would be to remove the old knot (a sharp knife, pliers, hot water and the careful application of force do the job) then measure the diameter of the resulting hole using a ruler. Order a replacement knot a couple of mm smaller, since you don't want a tight fit in the hole.

yes it would but i was trying to be kind of lazy and see if anyone had previously replaced the knot in one of these brushes and knew the size so i could go ahead and order the knot and while it is shipping i could then take my time removing the old one and prepping for the new knot.
