Recommended Fountain Pen

would be interested to hear what people would recommend to purchase in the £200-£250 range. I would like a new fountain pen for work but not sure what to get in this price range. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Within your budget and of the fountain pens I have experience with, I would recommend the Pelikan M600 as mentioned above, and also Sailor 1911 and Sailor Professional Gear. Sailor pens have wonderful nibs!

Thanks Frankie, had a Pelikan before and probably one of the few people that didn't get in with one! The sailor pens look great so have gone for a 1911 on the bay and a new Professional Gear in Mat Black and silver from the US as it was a better price there.

How about a Vanishing point one? Could be ideal to use in a work place.
I think they are roughly $150 or around there and people seem to love them

Marmite pen. BTW: You can buy a very much cheaper one direct from Japan via Ebay but with steel nib instead of gold.

Plus points:
- near unique design click-to-use.
- no cap to mess with
- nice writers
- good for notes when you have long breaks between writing - no need to re-cap

Minus points:
- funny to write with clip between thumb and forefinger. I don't like it.
- very small converter size (or use regular Pilot cartridge)
- massive mark-up in price for Pilot UK sales
- annoying clickerty-click whenever you start writing, especially in a quiet meeting.
- suited for office but expensive if it "goes missing"

Even though there are bad points it's an alluring pen. I both love it and hate it.
