Recommendations wanted-lawn edge trimming

Can anyone recommend a good device for trimming lawn edges? We only have a small lawn, but something labour saving would be nice. If said device could also cut the lawn, better still. Something with a long cord would also be good, as lawn is not right beside the house. Thanks in advance.

I use a Ryobi battery powered string trimmer for both edges and lawn but our lawn is really, really small and the cut is rough so no grass bowling.

Either husqvarna or stihl. I use a professional husqvarner strimmer as I am a gardener. But I have used the domestic strimmer and it was fine.
You can get a husqvarna 122c for £120 delivered. that is a petrol model with an angled shaft
It will last you a lot longer than any b&q special. :).
If you don't get on with an angled shaft model the cheapest one with a straight shaft starts at £210.
Either one will last you years.

Thanks all; in the end I have gone with a battery one; and glad I did being a 'concerned type of person'. :) HWMOM has asthma, so just as well not to be breathing in any unnecessary particulates nor putting them into the atmosphere in general. Neither of us are keen on the idea of electric wires trailing all over the place and possibly getting damaged. Also the petrol one from a little Googling seemed more problematic to operate. So hopefully this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IJEEGHW/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 will do the trick on our very small lawn and its edges.

PS @jimmyc I imagine that petrol may be best if you're doing a ton of strimming; and I'm sure all that cycling is offsetting the carbon footprint. But for our very modest requirements, I think the battery will suit us best.

Yep, perfect for you with a small garden. Remember to keep the battery charged during winter when you are not using it.
Or you will knacker the battery very quickly. :)

Last year I started using a Ryobi cordless electric trimmer powered by a 40V Litium-ion battery. It works well so far and is much more convenient than the corded trimmer I was using before. Its run time is a little longer than an hour which is adequate for my needs.

That's good to know. The one I bought is 36V battery, so hopefully not too far off. It just got delivered so I'm going to charge the battery to make sure it's ready to go as soon as HWMOM want's to use it this weekend.
