I have a confession - having bought this razor for a very specific purpose and time frame, I am now on my 3rd cartridge at home! It's a very comfortable shaver, and with normal DE preparation, I get a really smooth shave. My pendulum had swung at the extreme end of the arc towards proper DE razors, and I derided plastic razors, but this one has my own pendulum firmly on the swing back!

Just returned from a couple days away. Always take a Gillette Sensor with me (bog standard handle)...plus a 15ml Nuage or BodyShop shaving oil container. No soap or cream - I just use the Premier Inn liquid soap from their wall mounted dispenser. Don't even bother using any home purchased shampoo or bodywash liquid.

And I always come back thinking.... why in the world did I spend the last year amassing many, many hundreds of pounds worth of DE shaving gear when the Sensor gives just as good a shave and never ever nicks me and takes less than five minutes, not 30 minutes? I can get a great shave in a steamy, misted up Premier Inn bathroom with no fancy, illuminated magnifying mirror. No blood, no Alum block, no nothing.

I mentioned the "denim" sharpening method on here a year ago, albeit no-one acknowledged it then or subsequently. But it works a treat.

If my barber hadn't loaned me a Gillette Tech for a couple of weeks I'd still be using the Sensor every day and would be a grand better off.

Such is life.

I stopped using my DEs and SEs a couple of years ago and went back to using a Sensor for travel and a Mach3 at home. I like them both and they give me excellent shaves with no fuss, no muss in about half the time it took me to shave with a DE or SE. When I travel, however, I take along a Muhle synthetic brush, a stick of Harris lavender soap, a small bottle of aftershave and a styptic pencil. Although I haven't had to use the styptic pencil since I started using my cartridge razors again I like to have it along "just in case". In the final analysis I get a comfortable, close shave more consistently with my cartridges than I ever did with my DEs and SEs. I don't know why I still have my DEs and SEs.

Would I be sent to Coventry for daring to mention the Mach 3 disposable at this point?
I only mention them as they were on offer in Asda recently ( £2 for a pack of 5) so I picked a couple of packs up for my wife to use and ended up with a couple myself during a stay with the NHS whilst my kidneys and liver decided to have a little holiday from doing what they do best.
Light, reasonable shave and lasted 4 days before becoming draggy and being consigned to the burn bin.
