Received some notebooks

That's right DB, Carl can get plenty of mileage from nice pens and stationary in daily life! He's writing stuff out all the time I bet. Doesn't even know what he's missing by not using classy pens and pencils and such. Sheesh.

There are a lot of studies made that has shown that using a pen and paper keeps your brain active, improves hand-eye-coordination and is overall a great benefit to your cognitive skills.
It's increasingly important to keep those areas active/healthy as you get up there in the years - not saying write the next great novel but simple things like a short daily journal, SOTD thoughts, etc can be good projects to justify having some pens around AND be beneficial to you

Lol, no it's a serious question as they had this offer for people to try out their notebooks but I wasn't sure if that was over or not

Oh no! not classy pens - just purdy ones. Well - for now...

I'm waiting for the pen below to arrive.
It's a Chinese Jin Hao (the model below is their X450).
These pens have quite the cult following and people claim that they are excellent writers.

It also doesn't hurt that they sell brand new on eBay for $2-5 w/ free shipping.

I think I paid $2.90 for the one below....

For daily journaling I love my Hobonichi Techo.
The Tomoe River paper is SO thin but it seems to just allow show-through - no actual bleed-through with my fountain pens.

The Calepinos and BanditApples have become my daily jot-stuff-down-into-notebooks.

I want to try out the mnem..memosy.. something as well but I don't like spiral bound notebooks and it seems most of theirs are.

For hobo techo I very much recommend kawaiitokyo on etsy. She is in Japan and great to deal with. Ask her if she have any more 2016s with January start for $17 if you want to just try it out.
The English techo is January start only but there is also a Japanese one with April start

Hobonichi Techo and Rosso leather cover ordered.

It'll be my new golf journal / planner, that and a 0.4mm Pilot pen should be perfect. Leuchtturm will be relegated to office use.

Popovleather will be coming out with both a Hobonichi...as well as a redesigned Field Notes-sized leather cover in a few days... My order for those are ready to be placed as soon as they appear on his site
