QShave

I have been wet shaving now for 50 years. I know quite a bit about it, especially shaving brushes which I make and specialize in. I own and have owned many a DE razor and have enjoyed most of them, especially the nostalgia of the old Gillettes, fatboys, slim adjustables, etc. I recently tried a QShave razor and it has been the strangest thing.
When I happened upon it and first held it in my hand it reminded me of a small trim nail hammer, kind of top heavy and bulky. I wondered how could I like this thing? It just did not feel right. I went ahead for fun and installed one of the blades that came with it and immediately threw that gouging chisel in the blade bank.
Then I installed a Feather blade and after the first pass, I could not believe it. Was like a 400 lb. figure skater gliding softly across my face. Smooth and effortless the shave became as the whiskers were lost to the hot water. On the second pass it was even more delightful! After I was through and rinsed off my face it was as smooth as I have ever felt before and not a knick anywhere. And now with all of my other razors just sitting there in the rack I cant put this thing down. I use it every day and I am hooked on it. I never thought I would fall in love with a 400 lb. trim hammer looking figure skater...? This thing has a strange hold one me.

Is it the Futur clone you're referring to? If so, I agree - it's a good razor.

Had 2 different types and both were donkeys. If you get a good one they are said to be very good. I binned both of mine and just bought a genuine futur.
