Proraso Pre Shave Cream

I'm a real newcomer to all this but I used the Green Pre/Post cream yesterday and again this evening. Yesterday was my first DE shave so I can't really say what difference it made to the shave but I love the small and find it really refresshing.
A +1 for this product.

It's great I haven't used any product I own more than proraso pre, I'm a menthol head so it wins in that category as well as providing a nice slick layer, as I face lather I also get to spread the menthol :)

I'm a big fan of pre-shave oils but the Proraso pre doesn't really do it for me. I use it if I fancy a refreshing menthol hit in the summer months but oils do more for me in terms of preparing my skin and adding glide

The green (menthol) version is one of my favourite products.

Smells amazing. I wish they made an aftershave or cologne in this scent.

What's the blue or white like? Anyone tried them all and can make a comparison with the green?

Hi Celtic, is this what you mean? http://www.thedailymale.co.uk/proraso-after-shave-lotion-pas-100ml-143-p.asp

Just purchased a large green proraso preshave tub from salons direct.

As a pre shave cream - Fantastic and a great cooling hit before shaving. Noticed a difference in the glide with the DE razor

As a post shave cream - not so good. My face felt dry and sticky for some time after it. Will stick with other post shave balms

Definitely pleased with the purchase as a preshave though.

First time used it today as pre and post, not sure if the alum block use or not but pasty and not really smooth to run in as opposed to its use pre shave.

May stick to a pre shave as a nice smell.

Gemstoneshaving on Ebay have the large 300ml jar of green (menthol/eucalyptus) for £12.99 + £2.99 postage. This is the best price I've found for the large jar - some vendors charge more than this for the small 100ml jar.

Now that I'm using straights I prefer a pre shave oil too, the cream does not provide as much guide imo. Murdock is quality for this.

Anyway this is slightly cheaper, somewhere on TSR a discount code exists not sure about postage costs to be fair.

The 10% discount code is ysc.

On top of that I've found their site over estimates on the conversation rates. I placed an order for ~£43 after the discount (indicated on the site inc delivery) and once I went to pay with PayPal it was just over £40 with their conversation rate. So win win :)

Tried the white sensitive last night and found it useless as a pre shave. It did nothing to enhance glide or provide any lubricating qualities, in fact it seems to dry my skin. As a post shave treatment I found it really good in reducing redness on my neck but again it left my skin feeling dry. I did enjoy the fresh tingling feeling on the skin.

It just goes to show we are all different. I have sensitive skin and use both the green and white pre-shave. My skin and shave can't tell the difference, only my nose. I chop and change between the two for variety.

As for post-shave, I find either will do in a pinch, but why bother when there are plenty of dedicated post-shave treatments out there?

I always use the green pre-shave cream as a pre-shave - it seems to maintain hair softness while I load the brush or bowl-lather, and the layer of lubrication under the lather definitely improves the comfort of my shaves. I certainly wouldn't use it post-shave, though.
