Post shave cleaning

I take a few minutes or so to clean the basin, rinse the brush and rinse out the brush.
While I'm drying myself off the dismantled razor is bathed in piping hot water. It's then wiped dry with a "borrowed" hotel hand towel and re-assembled ready for it's next use.
Every few weeks razors are cleaned with an old toothbrush and liquid soap.
It's not OCD - it's taking care of my gear, and not leaving the bathroom messy.

I don't see the problem. When done, remove blade, rinse the soap off the razor, quick dry with a towel. When doing this, the warm tap is running over my brush, cleaning the soap. By the 10-20 seconds it takes me to dry the razor, the brush is ready for the water to be squeezed out, quick strop on a towel. Job done. 1-2 mins max.

Absolutely. You don't have to be OCD to take care of things and for the extra 5 minutes it takes there isn't any great loss for 'better time to spend on other matters in life'. Put time aside for things like shaving, cleaning etc and it doesn't become an issue.

Precisely. The amount of time (and, let's face it, money) we invest in choosing and buying our gear, it's worth it to invest a bit care.

I work away but when I am home Mrs Satanfriendly is amazed at how quickly I can clean the house. Most of it is done with a few extra minutes of 'I can be bothered' time. Saves in the long run and more time to get on with those other matters in life folk harp on about.

Perhaps it is my seaman mentality.
