So recently i've seen many threads popping up about Synthetic brushes here and other forums, and I got to wondering what the general knot preference is across our community.

More than likely there will be knots or brushes missing, and I've paired some earlier versions of knots by the same manufacturer with the newer version but this is because I was limited to spaces.

So if there are any i've missed that you feel deserve spot to replace one of the others please say give a reason why.

The original and revolutionary Plisson L'Occitane was amazing for face lathering.

The EJ/MÜHLE V2.0 is also really good, not as soft as the Plisson, but still very soft and with much more backbone.

I wonder how the new White Evolution fibres by Plisson compare to the original ones.

And what about the Simpson? More information would be appreciated.

I selected STF v1/v2 as they are together but my vote is for the v1.

They nailed it! It's the ultimate brush no matter synth or natural.

It's just amazing how it feels like a two band but lathers like a synthetic.

V2 is nice but nothing compared to V1.
I have the V1 in 21mm, 23mm and 25mm.
I have the v2 in 23mm and Frank Shaving pur-tech (fibre supplied by muhle) 28mm.

Whilst I enjoy all my brushes, if I had only the v1, I'd be fully content.

It's a toss up between a low lofted Cashmere or a STF v2 knot for me.

I went with v2 in the end as it's a much less loft dependent fibre. :)
