Malaga -

From the 'Knight's Tale' - Chaucer again -

'This world nys but a thurghfare ful of wo - And we have been pilgrymes, passynge to and fro.'

Doesn't need much translation - I think?

I promise to find something more cheerful for the next post. I'm really crap at doing holiday pictures - where's your missus on the beach? Why isn't there a picture of your dinner? Well - yes. Ha ha - cheers - I.

Malaga - There you go - as promised - not some depressing black and white thing - my other half - in gorgeous light as the sun was setting - at the port. Picasso was born in Malaga - you can see - in the light - I think - the lasting influence on his work - he lived most of his creative life in France - he left Spain because of Franco - he stipulated that Guerinica - his master work - could not return to Spain until the dictator was dead - which it did - but became a political pawn between the regions. This sort of light was always there in his work. Nikon D700 - yours - I.

A striking woman Iain. Punching well above your weight mate.

Iain........what is the relevance of badgers, squirrels and rats? Is there a reason why that building is decorated in this way?

Indeed a good question B. - one which I don't have an answer to I'm afraid. This barrio has been tarted up a lot since we were last stayed there - if you know the city - they are the blocks bounded by the Ave. Principal on the north side, the river to the west, the Passeo Maritimo on the east and the sea at the south end. It has been re-branded as barrio Soho - which it was never called before. The municipality has obviously spent a lot of money doing it up - pedestrianising most of the streets - there are far more bars, cafes and shops than previously - it used to be a bit shitty to be honest - a very successful bit of urban regeneration in my opinion. Part of this has been to get in a bunch of graffiti artists and give them loads of space to work with - the guy - it is a guy, I have a note of his name but I'm not sure where the relevant note book is just at the moment - did two big scale pieces. I think that it really enhances the environment - gift for a picture if nothing else. I'll put some more up - cheers - I.
