The island of Rum - Scottish western highlands - the Skye Cuillen in the background - a world class view - I think you might agree - my mate digging a fire pit to cook dinner - the whole place is - basically - a nature reserve - so you have to take good care to minimise your footprints - I collected the wood - from un-managed standing dead timber - birch - ideal for cooking. While I collected the fuel - he went fishing.

Dinner - a good sized fish - Pollock or Coalfish - I think - not sure - a relative of Cod - it tastes the same - I gutted it and grilled it in silver foil over the embers with some butter and spices - a fine repast. Next morning we put the roll of turf back into the fireplace - and within hours nobody would have known we had been there.
