So I'm down to my last unused feather, which I've been saving for 2 weeks..... Christmas is fast approaching and it looks like my new year will begin on an inferior shave. Then yesterday I arrived home to:

Thanks DrIdiot!

I'm with Fido on this one: they're too much for my boyish soft skin. I cork them first but still prefer a Derby.

Feathers are only good for circumcision . . . .

If you're getting that close you need to revise your stock control re-order threashold :)

Feather: I have had some very good shaves with Feather blades, but if I use them for more than 3 shaves on the trot they can knacker my face. This is a shame, as they always strike me a as a blade that's easy to get and will always be around.

Thanks for that image at this time of the morning Ollie!

I use them for 3, maybe 4 shaves but find nothing else gives me a the same effect - in fact I find the first shave from a feather to be the most gentle (in that I can use zero pressure) of any of the blades I've tried.

and/or hold an emergency stock

Hunny has the national blade bank!

When they stop making decent DE blades I'll publish his address on-line and we'll get some pitchforks and flaming torches . . . .

I think running out of blades is highly irresponsible and shows a complete lack of self-control. I'm sure the ladies (and gents) of our sister forum The Knitting Place would never run out wool. ;)

Oh yes, and how about the members of Fluoride and Floss (remember that anyone?) running out of toothpaste? Never!!

To move back to seriousness...

I am happy to make an emergency loan from my stock to members in good standing who experience this kind of temporary local shavocalypse on the understanding that it's replenished as soon as they obtain their supplies.

Buddy, can i get a couple hundred swedes please?

:)

Speaking of The Knitting Place they have posted up a reminder. With the Christmas season and parties and booze the advice is more urgent and relevant than usual: please, don't share needles.
