Panasonic Lumix LX3

Some of you may have read my previous post in this section re the frustrations of not having manual control. Has anyone tried the above Panasonic?

Clearly not.
However I rather fancy the Canon Powershot G11.

Are you sure? The G11 looks brilliant.
May I ask why you would pick the panasonic?

Mainly the Leica lens

I would prefer a viewfinder built in though.

I like viewfinders, but I've recently noticed I rarely use the thing especially since noticing that the view through the viewfinder and the final image were a fair bit out.

I'm waiting to see a decent review of the G11.

The Leica lens is good.

I can't afford either anyway.

It looks nice. I can't help feeling though that if its too big for the pocket you may as well have a full SLR.
It would be interesting to see how much better the image quality is compared to say and LX3 or G11.

The GF1 is very interesting. Hoping to get hold of one before too long myself. The image quality will be far better than an LX3, stands to reason, an APS-C cmos sensor is going to make far less noise and have much higher resolution than what is still a fingernail sized chip in the LX3.
