palmolive stick DISCONTINUED !!!!

The Palmolive Classic line is not distributed in the UK by Colgate. It is purchased directly by Wilko, ASDA etc and they distribute it. If Colgate UK have delisted the line its because no one buys it through them anymore. I try to tell people when they ask but we are still getting many doomsday like purchases.

The Armageddon has been postponed.

Thanks for the info though Paul.

Polsilvers are not currently in production, not sure if P&G ever kill a brand they own. Although I have NOS Silver Blues they have been made in 2017/18, I just can't get them anymore. Petersburg tend to do big runs of one blade then stop & set up for the next type, so I am told. The newest blades from late 2017 are laser etched on one side, single wrapped. For us the Silver Blue & 7 o'clock Sharp Edge are the most popular, but Gillette normally reserve the Platinum brand for their top of the line blade. Polsilver were different but they were meant for Eastern Europe distribution, 7 o'clocks are normal distributed out of Dubai. I find the 7 'clock and Platinum both very good but I prefer the Sharp Edge, smoother for me.

The NOS Silver Blues you have are double wrapped right, have printing on both sides and have 4 large glue spots? I think the current Silver Blues are etched on one side, blank on the other and are single wrapped which is the way PPI are making all their blades now.

Gillette PPI seem to have two different packaging for their Platinum line, the one which is dark blue text on a white box with a dark blue border, I think this one is for the Arabic market. The other one is white text on a blue printing, and that one seems to be for the Eastern European market (maybe Bulgaria).

Yes, there are also Silver Blues and others that are single wrapped, with printing and the new style glue spots. They are made before 2017 but after 2011/12 I think, I don't always get packing slips with production dates. Also Gillette have been selling Platinums (dark blue) in TAOS stores, I believe these are Brazil made ones.

The former is sold in the USA as well by the AOS stores.

I decided to try a stick, 75p at a local chemist. I grated it into a old soap container and used it like any soap puck. Superb lather and a fine shave, almost as good as soap from artisans . I'll use it all week to see it isn't a one off success!
However, could not get it to work as a stick.
I've been reading roumors of it being discontinued for ages. High street chemists and beauty bargain stores are awash with this!
