palmolive stick DISCONTINUED !!!!

Where's a reasonable place to buy Speick from in the UK? I can't being myself to pay the prices on Amazon and eBay!

Connaught have it for £4.20, but that's before postage which I think is about £4 or so? I think that's their pretty much flat postage fee, so you could combine it with other soaps and all. The problem with browsing the Connaught site isn't what to pick but what to leave out...

I have long thought the Speik might be a good alternative but it's ages since I tried it. That time may be coming sooner than later.

That would eliminate potential wastage but I quite like the stick format for convenience. I might see how well the stick sticking works and consider mashing it into a bowl if it doesn't stay on.

The stick sticking works very well IMO. The first time I rubbed a stick across stubble I thought there was no way that such an apparently small amount of soap would generate a lather, but it works a treat. I use sticks right down to the very last gram, so there's not much in terms of wastage.

Thanks guys, I hadn't thought of scoring the soap first but it makes sense. I bought the first one from Shaving.ie so I got the travel tube with it, it would be a shame to smash it into a bowl.

@Supermangs I had a similar reaction the first time I used a stick, I was deeply sceptical until I went at it with a wet brush and copious lather appeared! That was with Palmolive but Speick has become a firm favourite.

Just been in Wilko Barking plenty of stock but price now 75p a 50% increase still cheap lucky i've got enough to last me forever or sell for loads of dosh on the bay in a few years time

I wouldn't be surprised if this sudden rush of purchasing has triggered a "Rise the Price" notification on the Wilko inventory management system!

The early rumors of the Palmolive stick demise in the UK distructed us from the real demise of the other cheap stick, the infamous Erasmic Lather Stick.

Look like it was quitly killed when the soap dish migrated to a 90g format last year, I challenge you to find me this awaful stick anywhere [emoji3166]

RIP ELS.. and Ingram [emoji1784]

I was actually thinking about that this week, the Erasmic stick seemed to disappear near enough without anyone noticing. It's not one I ever used but I read it was supposed to be awful! The cream seems to be for sale in a few places, and the 90g soap. If I get bored I might up one!

Erasmic stick(s) were really bad.
Very old/vintage ones are good, I am talking about the late ones. In the past 5-6 years changed packaging and formula but very difficult/almost impossible to get a nice, slick, cushioning lather. Stick and Bowl soap formulas are different, the soap in the bowl is good.
