From local Wilkinson I bought two Palmolive sticks and then popped in to Superdrug to buy a tube of Ingram's but there wasn't any so it is gone for good by the looks of it, but I noticed that they are selling Pinaud's shaving and beard stuff

This went around a few years ago so I picked up 10 sticks from local Tesco's. That report was baseless, but it seems this latest obituary has more substance. A very sad loss if it is true. A real bargain - cheap and a great performer. If you've never used one, get some in now.

I have a few sticks and due to this thread I used one yesterday as I had forgotten how good it really shaves. The scent is generic industrial and for those seeking a perfect post shave feel look elsewhere, however for latherability & pure performance it runs with the best artisan soap. ;)

I know I'm really late to this party but after reading this thread thought I would try one for the first time for my daily headshave . Very impressed, why had i never tried these before?!! Off to Superdrug to buy the last few they have in stock later!

I bought a tube of Palmolive cream as I wondered what this price range would be like. Good lather, easy to use but not as close a shave as a more upmarket cream or soap. Also, no great after shave face feel. Not a bad shave, but not the same luxuriousness of the best of what you can buy.
So guys, don't mourne the loss of this brand, there is a whole wonderful range of better soaps out there to give your face a real treat!!

I suggest you try Palmolive Menthol cream. It is not available in the UK but can be purchased on ebay, bit more expensive but fantastic scent, freshness and cooling

I don't think Wilko are aware of the national shortages in the mighty green.
Plenty in a couple of Wilko's near me (West country). Still 50p.
