Occasionally I have an overnight business trip where I only take a carry-on and therefore just take a disposable. I'm used to shaving with a Cobra and the few disposables I've tried are too mild. The Gillette guard was OK but is there a more aggressive one available?

Try the Feather F11 neo, much better than the Guard.

The best disposable for my money is the Bic METAL, but they have disappeared from the stores. The Bic yellow single blades, usually saying “sensitive” on the package, are certainly more aggressive than the name suggests, and are an acceptable substitute for the METAL. They seem plentiful too.
If you're looking for a multi-blade, I pick the Schick Slim Twin ST2. Again, easy to find, although I've seen them in four different colors (green, orange, pink, and purple) they appear to be identical, although I've only personnally used the orange and green.
I like these razors for the small, maneuverable shaving head, and the little tab above the blades that, when pushed, slides a thin plastic swab between the blades to push out whiskers and lather that can become trapped there.

Bic Sensitive gives a closer shave than the Gillette Guard and as stated, the Bic Metal is more aggressive but I also agree that the Bic Sensitive is preferred with me, too.

What about a Trac-II type razor? The Gillette GII and Feather FII cartridges both give good shaves, no irritation and little chance of nicks.

I think of all these razors, only the Bic Metal has a chance of catching and nicking.

I love Bic 1 Sensitives. If they weren't so a) ugly and b) environmentally disagreeable I'd contemplate using them at home. A pack of ten for a quid... you can't even buy Derbys for that!
