Oven hob query...

I have had my oven hob for over 25 years, never missed a beat. My mums 'new' one (3 years old) now needs replaced and I want to get her one like mine (photo attached) . I want a NON ceramic electric hob, 4 x rings, with an individual LEDs representing each hob. Have searched for ages now and can't find one. They all seem to think that one LED is sufficient. Maybe a genuine, 'they don't make'em like they use to!' Any you guys aware of what I'm looking for?

I get what you're saying buddy but I don't think you're going to have much luck. It's either induction or ceramic. Induction is good(if you don't have a pacemaker ha ha), or ceramic which is pretty OK too.

Induction is brilliant and it turns itself off if it doesn't have a pan on it! I used to go out and then ask myself did I really switch that gas off? (I know it's a bad sign lol).

It's an interesting test but that 18k btu burner looked pretty gutless as well as being the wrong size for the kettle not to mention that cooking by electric will be more expensive. I'm a fan though and have a desktop induction plate sitting alongside my gas hob but have a bit too much investment in copper and aluminium to make a total switch. To the OP, safety wise you'd think it was a no brainer especially for the elderly although the concept may need a little getting used to, still are you more likely to leave a pan on the induction hob without being able to see whether it's on or off, dunno?
