OneBlade Core

To the ones that already tried this razor, what do you think of it? Does the pivoting head someway helps or is more like a gimmick?
It works in that you can use this like a cart razor, but undertaking your 2-3 pass routine. On the one hand, it delivers very good results brainlessly. On the other, it takes some of the enjoyment out of shaving.

Takes a few shaves (7 in my case) to dial in but it does deliver good results and I could also use it daily which is rare for me.

Those of you that took the plunge, has the razor arrived yet? I ordered one this evening for €20.91 (which includes delivery and a 15% discount). However if you acces the site normally there is no sign of this low price (it's $49.99). If you use the link provided then the price is $19.99.

I just concerned it may be a glitch?
Thanks

I loved the Genesis even if I did pass it on and I would like to think the core delivers much the same.

Just too bloody lazy for me and lacks living on the edge.

I have been sorely tempted but I have to stop being tempted and stop being sorely.

I've got an order acknowledgment and order number, and an email saying that they'll email me Again when my razor has been despatched, but it also says the $4.95 shipping can take upto 4 weeks, so I'm not worried yet.

I reckon that link did the rounds pretty quick, they got hammered with orders and they're playing catch up on the manufacturing.

I might chase it in a couple of days.

I ordered on the 6th, I got an email today to say it's shipped. So 2 weeks to get to that point.

Mine shipped yesterday and I ordered on the 14th. If you're at all concerned just message them on the website and they will get back to you.

Core collected from Post Office today having missed the Postie on Wednesday.

No additional charges or taxes. That was order placed to delivery to my door in 11 days.

Initial thoughts are quite impressive. Obviously lighter in weight than my Genesis, but really impressive looking and feel. A stand, pack of Feather blades, for the money, appears a great deal.

Mine arrived yesterday, again with no charges, because OneBlade declared the value at about $12...

It does have the appearance of a premium product, quite stylish with a modern vibe and well packaged. However, after handling it I'm not sure I would be happy paying full price (about £50 at the moment) for it. In fact, if I saw it in a shop for full price I'm pretty sure that I'd pass on it. I think the head looks slightly on the cheap side compared to the handle.

I gave it a go and even though I'd read that it was a mild razor I was surprised at just how benign it is. I had a 3 pass shave, which resulted in a DFS+, and when I splashed on the A/S I had literally no sting at all, which is a first for me, even going back to my cartridge days.

So no complaints about the performance, even though I prefer a little more feedback about what the blade is up to, and a bit of lovely A/S sting!

I'm not sure if this is a keeper, I'll keep it in rotation for a while, but I enjoy a more visceral shaving experience as provided by my iKon, ATT or Mongoose razors.

It would be a fantastic first razor for someone looking to ditch cartridges, it's completely unthreatening, gives a great shave, looks good in the bathroom and it being dedicated to the Feather blade removes the uncertainty of which blade to choose. This could be all the razor some people might ever need or want, with only the temptation of moving up the range to trouble the wallet...

How on earth can you resist the urge to try out a new acquisition. I have heard of folk having a second Shave just to try the new one out.

I have a backlog of new acquisitions.

Gem G bar, Gibbs Adjustable, a razorrine type of thing, a wardonna bakelite & a Schick Type C, a few soaps & blades even a Gillette Fusion ball thing with the normal fusion head & this new two blade sensitive head.
