Old geezer cap

I have an ancient Stetson hat that I bought from an Amish kid that was hanging in a barn for $5 in 1995. I used it for years in an historical Old West reenactment group. Weathered & covered in about a pound of bonafide cows&%$ it is. I finally removed the liner as it was so worn. I "discovered" rather quickly why beavers spend most of their time in cold water as that hat sure is hot during Summer!!

The first, and most famous Stetson hat of the Old West, was the legendary Boss of the Plains hat:

That's a great story. Thanks.

When I lived in Oklahoma many of the men who others would consider "cowboys" wore straw Resistol hats. This hat was their working hat. Maybe they wore a Stetson on a formal occasion. Also wore Wranglers, never Levis.

Wow! Great cap. Lawrence & Foster, in Yorkshire, will make you a wonderful hand tailored News Boy for about 43 pounds. Found this cap maker to be a way better deal than the boys in London. Some of London store caps may be actually made in China. What? My cap has a label saying MADE IN YORKSHIRE - ENGLAND. Enjoy your cap.
Thanks!

Have not grabbed it yet though... just testing the waters.. That guy looks interesting!

...I have three, Lidl, M&S and Lawrence and Foster. The Lidl is great and cost me 3.99; the M&S one feels insubstantial and the cut is off (back too shallow) the Lawrence and Foster is hand made and is great. Whilst I am not without vanity, I mostly don't care now what others think...I am sure it does make me look like an old geezer to some, but I like them...

Old geezer my ass! I'm sure you look great in those caps of yours.

There is another cap maker - Kempadoo Millar in Pudsey, West Yorkshire. Their caps are a bit more quirky but I think are pretty nifty just the same and are hand made in West Yorkshire. The one I have is a bit more Peaky Blinders than my Lawrence & Foster but is well made with quality locally made material.
