October 2018 Acquisitions

Running low on quite a lot of supplies so I decided to treat myself. Expecting delivery of the follow tomorrow:

1 x Floid SE 'Mentolado Vigoroso' Aftershave 400 ml
1 x Floid The Genuine Aftershave Balm 125ml
1 x VITOS Extra Super COCO Soft Shaving Soap (1000 ml Block)
1 x VITOS Pre Shaving Cream 250 ml
1 x VITOS Tabacco Aftershave Lotion 400 ml
1 x Wickham 1912 Luxury Aftershave Balm 50 ml (unscented)
1 x Wickham 1912 Vegetal Shaving Soap 140g (Cashmere)

A couple backup pucks of vintage Ralph Lauren Safari shaving soap, a top favorite. I think I have enough soaps and creams now to last me about 12 years, longer probably than I'll be wet shaving.

Looks in lovely condition as well?

It's certainly not bad, the silver plating on the handle is a little thinner at the head end but none actually worn through and all the teeth are straight. Pity I shaved this morning... May have to shave a day early and give it a whirl tomorrow! Blade exposure and gap are fairly pronounced so I'm expecting aggressive efficiency.

It does look a bit viscous :D

Used it this morning, not that bad... Felt smooth and gentle but the alum told a different story! Stingggg. Lovely shaver though, nothing like any "old type" I've used, I think its down to the notched/crimped teeth which provide a larger gap beneath the blade whilst the outer teeth have no gap thus providing lots of support to stop the blade chattering and flexing... They really thought about this design.

The crimped inner teeth can just about be seen here:

Leresche #51. People say these are "heavy duty" but until I held one I didn't quite appreciate what they meant, what an absolute tank, makes the old Gillettes feel like disposables :p

Nice one. I also just picked one up and it's beautiful, but I have no idea how old it is. I've uploaded a short YouTube video featuring my Leresche, (Shave with Dave) and I'd be grateful if anyone could give me some information.
