Oatcake Soaps

I ordered a sample pack over the weekend. I liked the sound of Abyss and Overgrowth, but 1) didn't need more soap and 2) hadn't noticed that they sold samples. Well, samples will be added to the sample pile and I'll hopefully get to them soon.

I don't need more soaps either but I can't help myself...

Tried the Gingerbread and the scent and performance were really good. Never worked through a sample so quickly though, 2 shaves and it was gone. Anyone else found that it's particularly soft? Part of me is a bit put out by this, but on the other hand, I'd be happy to have soap that I can finish more quickly and move on to something else (finish soap?)

Pretty similar. I flattened it to the bottom of an aluminium tin, load with a damp brush then face lather. I normally load by counting the number of swirls and went with the same amount that I'd use for Stirling/Noble Otter/Catie's Bubbles.

I will easily get 5 shaves out of each sample. I took a small amount out of the sachet, placed it in the bottom of a bowl and lathered slowly using less water than usual at the start and building more gradually. Gives me more than 3 passes worth with plenty left for post shave application to finish off.

The samples I've got all look like they're slightly different sizes, so will try another one and see how I go. Definitely like the soap and would buy some pucks of the samples I have once I've worked through a few of the others that I have. Normally I grumble about how long the stuff lasts, but not this time.
