I didn't even know what SWMBO stood for. I mean I knew it was referring to a girlfriend or wife... I had to look up a lot of those acronyms on the B&B wiki, but I can't be expected to remember them all.

Don't worry y'all, the UK has a colorful (I mean colourful) cornucopia of locutions (locuti?) with which we may pepper our posts. I will dip into both my British and Yankee heritage to keep things spicy and bland.

I don't really like the term 'acquisition disorder'. It makes it sound like there's something wrong with you. It's human nature to enjoy collections, whether it's albums, paintings or butter knives, so I personally would like to see a more positive term. Can't think of one off the top of my head, so there goes another pointless post from PC... :roll:

In fairness, collections can go from reasonable to slightly nutty.....ending up like Kathy Bates in 'Misery'.

Can we get rid of Newbie and variations? It reminds me of boarding school and 'Sprog'. Allong with the other names like razor rajah or barber pole jockey, complete crap.

I agree with getting rid of Americanisms.
Aquisition disorder should be "my razor collection" or "my soap collection" or my recent purchases.
SWMBO will be the misses or her indoors.
