Newbie E Jagger Question

Hi all,
I apologise if this is a stupid question.

I've decided to quit the cartridge shaving bottomless money-pit, and no doubt start on a similarly expensive DE journey.
... but at least I'll have some smart shiny things to show for my spending.

I've read various threads with suggestions for Newbie DE razors, and one of the common suggestions is the Edwin Jagger DE89.
I've taken a shine to the Jagger 3D Diamond DE with the black handle, it just looks very grippy and quite smart. Is the head on the 3D the same as the DE89, in which case I assume it is also recommended for beginners, or is it a more aggressive head?

Thanks for any advice offered.

I started with an EJ89 as well and can confirm it's a great razor for a beginner. I also recommend getting a Yaqi synthetic brush (plenty on eBay for £20 or less) and some decent shaving soap to go with it. I've found soap to be better than cream but it's really a matter of personal preference. I also got an alum block but hardly ever use it now because I don't tend to nick myself any more!

You'll spend about £50 to get yourself set up which feels like quite an investment, but you'll soon save that if you're moving away from cartridge razors. It's a much more enjoyable experience as well and, after a few nicks and cuts in the first few weeks, I've found that I get a much closer shave and smoother finish.

Welcome to the club and I hope you enjoy getting started as much as I have.
