I've noticed Lord have a few new blades out, the Asco Platinum and also the Shark Platinum.

The latter has some truly fantastic packaging.

The old Shark Stainless seemed to shave better for most than their Chrome. Let's see what this new offering brings to the table, or is it merely the Lord Platinum in new "clothes"?

P.S. Where are you seeing these for sale?

I've tried a large chunk of the Lord blades, and there seem to be differences amongst them but it's difficult to describe. I have no idea whether it is a rebranded Lord Platinum. Of all the many blades I've tried Lord blades seem to be the most inconsistent, I had one Shark SS which was superb and the rest of the pack of 5 weren't great. The 2 Shark SC I tried were much better.

The Shark Platinums can be found here,

And the Asco Platinum

Just ordered some from that Ebay store. I really like the Shark blades i've tried in the past so happy to give these a go.

Report back to how the blades perform.

I find Lord blades to be incredibly variable in consistency. The good ones are up there with some of my favourite blades for smoothness.

So the blades arrived on Monday. First thing i noticed is that they are packed in the plastic slide out style containers rather than the cardboard ones like the other Shark blades.

Only had one shave so far and it went well. I found it very smooth and felt the blade seemed sharper than the Shark Super Stainless blades. My next few shaves will be with the same blade, I've got very thick facial hair and find the SS blades don't stand up well after 3-4 shaves. I'll be interested to see how these fare.

So my 2nd shave with the blade was a disaster. Same razor (Game Changer) and same soap (Stirling Dreamsicle) but this time I ended up with 2 quite bad nicks which hasn't happened to me in months.
These blades are definitely sharper than the other Sharks but maybe not in a good way. I'll give them another go but that last shave as definitely left a sour taste.

Nicks are rarely caused by blades. It's almost always bad technique, too much pressure or a razor too "aggressive" for your needs.

Yep. I picked up the worst nick/cut, when I pretty much sliced the edge of my lower lip. Was I using an aggressive razor and blade? Nope! Lord L6 with a Treet Platinum! Lost concentration for a split second and got the angle as wrong as I possibly could get!

Yeah quite possible I was just in cruise control and was guilty of not taking enough care. I have had a third shave with the blade which was fine but not sure I'd rush out to buy any more of these.

I've just bought some of these, and have had one shave with my Rex. The first impression is that they are both sharp and smooth, which is what I tend to like in any blade. I think the only other Shark blade I've used came as a complimentary, or in a sample pack, and I wasn't that impressed, but this one is definitely a different kettle of fish.
