New scales for Kai Captain shavette

Wood is pine, normally too soft I think for scales but the burning/brushing technique seems to make it denser and harder. This was my first try and I learned a lot, for example playing with fire do not expect to be in full control of the end result :)

Not obvious in pic but harder dark wood is forming ridges and softer light wood trenches, contrast in colour and depth will increase with the amount of elbow grease used brushing, had three brushes: nylon, brass and steel, my guess was that nylon would be best suited for wood but steel brush proved me wrong.
