New Member saying Hi from Miami

Welcome to TSR from a fellow newby. It is a fantastic and satisfying hobby, although as others have said, it takes you over. I am trying out new things and improving my technique daily. Everyone on the forum has been brilliant and very helpful.
Enjoy.

How's the shaves been this week?

Hello!

Shaved two days ago but only WTG. Had to do 3 passes because my technique is still pretty rookie. But for the second time I didn't get any razor burns or bumps. I definitely had to put some aspirin paste on my face after putting some aftershave balm which i believe helped a lot. Before these shaves it hasn't been pretty at all. Have had a lot of razor burns and bumps after every shave even when I feel I'm having a smooth shave. But right after I'm done my mustache area and chin area where burning a lot and bumps appeared as well.

Regarding my neck area I'm not even touching it with my DE razor. Decided to just use my electric razor for that area which has helped not getting any razor bumps nor ingrowns. I know it's obviously not the way to do it but I guess until I get my technique a little better I definitely don't want to touch that area yet with a DE.

About to have another shave today since I'm shaving every other day. Can't wait to receive my vintage tech which I hope also helps with my coarse hair.

Using astras sp. for now the best blades I have until I receive my sample blades.

Thanks!

Paul

Welcome aboard, mate. Given your one- or two-days beard from the opening post, I think you will be 'born again' -- as the German idiom says -- after shaving with the R41 beast. ;)
