New Edwin Jagger Razor?

Looks like they have gone quiet on their facebook page too.

That being so, they seem to have tripped up a bit by making it available for review in the USA.

I have no idea why an established company should have gone about this in a "sort of amateur Kickstarter way". They could learn some valuable lessons on this from looking at Supply and Blackland, both of whose initial offerings I backed to the hilt and continue to support.

I suppose it's gone some way back to the drawing board, and it reminds me of the stuttering start of the Muhle Rocca first iteration.

I'd expect to see more Youtube videos before any actual announcements from the company themselves to be honest. My assumption would be they've sent lots of review units out to the "biggest" Youtuber's/Instagramer's in the hope they'll hype up the launch.

Even French Youtube reviewers have them already:

But not a single UK based reviewer!

But why no UK based Youtuber's ?

Nothing right with it either! Had three of the buggers and all had QC issues with misaligned blades, uneven gaps etc. I'll concede they're technically a fine design, hell it's unchanged in 75 years for good reason but as a "go to" it ain't good enough for me... Maybe if they tightened up the quality control.
Oi! I love my utterly perfect in every way 34c. You are making me feel insecure and inferior. Oh yes, the sky is green and the grass is blue and Matron is late with my medication. Ah, here she comes...No, NO, not the big needle, I'll be good, honest, NOOOO!!!

On a more serious note, I understand there have been QC issues with Merkur razors and although my 34c isn't plated or finished quite to the phenomenal standard of an Edwin Jagger, it is otherwise excellent and without issue. Ironically, I purchased it from TESC, the main online presence of EJ.

It's my reliable go to. When Matron trusts me with sharp things, naturally..... :devilish: ;)

I have unbelievably bad luck, 99% of all shaving items I purchase arrive with something not quite right... Razors with bad plating, dodgy blade gaps, general bad QC, brushes which fall apart, brushes with giant glue bumps & wonky logo stickers... Soaps full of stearic lumps, dented tins, bubbling labels... Creams which have dried out... Aftershaves and Colognes with wonky/ripped labels, dodgy caps which leak etc etc.

I've bought a lot over the past 3 years and can count on one hand the number of items which were problem free. I'm probably just too fussy and expect too much. Oh well. - I'm referring to new purchases from vendors, not second hand (for clarity.)

The website mentioned in the previous post already had SKU numbers, prices, etc so it looks like they are getting ready for a product launch. If they have the information I would think other sellers would have it as well.

Keep the faith and keep watching. I am anxious to get my hands on one as well.
