Grenson's ? P.
No, Loake Bedale, Paul. Couldn't quite stretch to Grenson's unfortunately, mum gave me £200 for my birthday, and told me I was not, under any circumstances, to spend it on records...

When I told her I wanted some nice shoes she was over the moon, because she used to have a serious shoe habit. It kills her that she can only wear Ecco and Hotters these days!

The Loakes were on sale and I managed to find a discount code that dropped them to just under £200, so I have change for a pint, cheers Mum!

I have a pair of those, they take a bit of breaking in but reckon they'll go for donkey's. Beaut boot!
Check all the seems and stitching with great scrutiny... the first pair I got in a sale were a bit faulty here and there so I sent them back. Hence the sale price? Possibly? Cynical perhaps? Got a proper pair sent from same vendor.

Hello Rob, those boots are indeed beautiful and will last you a lifetime if well looked after. Is that a double leather of danite rubber sole. When I was at school many years ago, late sixties, early seventies (the skinhead era) people used to wear either Dr Martins or what were known (for some reason) as Corsicans, which were very similar to your boots but always with a duble leather sole. Perhaps a nice pair of Chelsea boots to go with them at some time? I have a couple of pairs of RM Williams CB's, but on the more formal pair have had the heals lowered slightly and added a double leather sole for good measure. I have looked at getting some made from either Alfred Sargent or Edward Green, but I don't think that this is viable for me now. On a lesser note, if you would like a pair of Chelsea boots for say perhaps wearing casually on a holiday etc; Clarks currently do a fairly good range at a very reasonable price.
